primary/direct beneficiaries such as adolescents, first time parents, mothers and pregnant & lactating women; and secondary/indirect beneficiaries such as husbands and in laws of first-time mothers and pregnant & lactating women, and parents of adolescent girls and boys to make them aware of the best healthcare practices.

Some of the key interventions include:

• Establishing a peer led support mechanism for continuity in information, counselling and referral through creating community champions and peer leaders for each group
• Enhancing capacity of frontline workers to deliver quality RMNCH+A services
• Strengthen community-based institutions and convergence at local level between key departments to ensure effective services delivery
• Celebration of important days and events with the community pertaining to Health such as World Population day; World AIDS Day; International Women Day; World Mental Health day; Menstruation day; International Breastfeeding Week; Thematic camps and nutrition camps among pregnant and lactating mothers

Some of the measurable outcomes from our program have been an increase in community awareness and implementation of best practices by the community on matters relating to healthcare and hygiene and more open conversations around menstruation and personal hygiene by women. It has also led to an increase in women being enrolled in higher education as their marriages are delayed and this has led to an increase in their self-esteem and confidence.

This project caters to children of different age groups i.e., pre-primary and Grade 1-5 Government schools, and has a twofold approach to address the issue of the learning gap - working closely with the children in the school setting and generating awareness in the community regarding the importance of education as a means to a better quality of life.

Some of the key interventions can be summarized as follows:

• Building Math and language skills in the students through customized content and teaching learning material in English as well as the local languages
• Capability building and awareness generation of the parents to enroll their children into schools and contribute to their learning levels.
• Augmenting existing education infrastructure through creating playscapes (playgrounds in schools) and using the methodology of art-based learning in schools by painting walls to encourage students to attend schools
• Interactions with important stakeholders like the district and block level Panchayat and supporting school principals and teachers

Some of the measurable outcomes have been improvement in writing and analytical skills of children and building of competencies that would enable them to get access to better opportunities, development of physical, cognitive and socio-emotional skills and  greater enrollment and increase in attendance rates in schools

b. EyeCanInspire

Greenlam’s EyeCanInspire campaign in India is targeted at supporting blind and visually impaired people. The campaign was initiated at a critical juncture where the support given to the target group for inclusive opportunities became even more limited with the pandemic and the challenge to cope increased multifold.  

The program aims to produce & provide accessible reading material in Audio, Braille, e-text formats to visually impaired thereby promoting education & building an inclusive society. The intervention aims to cater to a twofold objective:

• Production and Distribution of non-translated (into accessible formats by the blind)educational material
• Distribution of existing translated (into accessible formats by the blind) educational material that have a huge demand and need

The program has enabled the blind and visually impaired to restart their lives in a post COVID situation through continuous access to learning materials.

Location: Pan India

1. Provide sound physical and mental health environment to the children in the Ghar
2. Mentor parent support for every child who act like real parents to the children

iii. Provide educational support, including tuition for school, out of school learning programmes and peer support structure.

1. Ensure children receive a comfortable living environment inside and outside the Ghar
2. Conduct workshops around skill building, education and hygiene and health issues
3. Conduct field trips and exposure visits for the children in the Ghar

vii. Counselling sessions for all the children surrounding mental health issues

We have been supporting the Ghar even before the inception of our CSR and have been able to provide a good quality of living to more than 25 girls over time.

The intervention was launched in March 2021, and includes:

• Water for Productive Use- Support revival of traditional water bodies, construction of water storage infrastructure, and safe disposal of wastewater
• Capacity building of the community on Water and WASH- Create awareness about the need for water conservation and build capacities of local communities for better management and long-term sustainability of their water resources
• Focus on Sustainable Livelihoods- Increase the capacity of farmers and educate them on better farming practices, educate them on water saving irrigation practices and encourage entrepreneurship

Some of the expected outcomes are improvement in rainwater harvesting capacity of the villages and increase in availability of water for agriculture purposes; Improvement in groundwater recharge through water harvesting structures and promotion of sustainable livelihoods by building farmer capacity, including women producers
